UPDATE: Blaine man arrested in connection with crash that killed teen riding bicycle

A teenage boy died Friday evening after a vehicle struck him head-on while he was riding a bicycle, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office. 

According to a news release, early information shows 16-year-old Anthony Janisch was riding a bicycle along with two other teenagers who were with him. They were traveling on 129th Avenue when a vehicle going westbound struck the teenage boy head-on. 

Officers then responded to a report of a crash at 6:36 p.m. at the intersection of 129th Avenue Northeast and Lincoln Street in the city of Blaine. Upon arrival, first responded attempted lifesaving measures on Janisch. However, he was later pronounced dead on the scene. 

Daniel Aaron Rodman, 28, of Blaine, was arrested in connection with the crash. He has been booked into the Anoka County Jail on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide. He has not been formally charged.

It is unknown if alcohol was involved during the crash. 

The crash remains under investigation. More information is to be released at a later time.
