St. Paul will celebrate the grand opening of Gateway Park Tuesday afternoon, launching a space the city said is designed as a connecting gateway to St. Paul and its surrounding neighborhoods.
Mayor Melvin Carter will be among those at the public ribbon cutting, which begins at 3:30 p.m.
Roads within the Highland Bridge development are not yet open for parking, so the city advises people to leave early enough to park on nearby streets if they are traveling by car.
The park is located at 2290 Ford Parkway.
Events, including skateboard activities facilitated by 3rd Lair Skate, are expected to run until 5 p.m.
A skate park is just one of the park’s amenities; it also features a skate trail, biofiltration basins, game tables and more.
