Forest Lake beats Brainerd 6-0 for Class 4A State Softball Championship

Hannah Tong went 3-for-4 at the plate and struck out seven batters in seven shutout innings as Forest Lake beat Brainerd 6-0 in the Class 4A championship game at the MSHSL State Softball Tournament on Friday.
It is Forest Lakes’ first state title in 16 state tournament appearances.
In the other championship games, Mankato West defeated Winona 5-1 for the Class 3A championship. In the 2A title game, Chatfield defeated Proctor 3-2. Nicollet won the Class 1A championship with a 3-2 win over Moose Lake-Willow River.
