Twins reinstate 4 from restricted list, put Ober back on IL
After taking two of three games in Toronto this past weekend, the Minnesota Twins made a series of roster moves Monday.
The team reinstated outfielder Max Kepler and pitchers Emilio Pagan, Caleb Thielbar and Trevor Megill from the restricted list, which the players were placed on due to COVID-19 rules preventing unvaccinated players from joining the team.
To make room on the roster, outfielder Mark Contreras and pitchers Jharel Cotton and Ian Hamilton were returned to Triple-A St. Paul.
Additionally, Minnesota put starting pitcher Bailey Ober on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain. His placement on the list is retroactive to June 2.
It’s Ober’s second stint on the IL this season after missing 20 games from April 29 through May 21 with the same injury.
The Twins also signed pitcher Aaron Sanchez to a minor-league deal on Monday.
