National Eagle Center reopens to daily visitors

After being closed for several months due to renovations, the National Eagle Center in Wabasha has reopened to daily visitors.

The center reopened Friday morning after a six-month hiatus that allowed for the first phase of the Wabasha Riverfront Revitalization Project.

Some of the upgrades include the expansion of eagle care facilities and repurposed classrooms to make room for eagle ambassadors who are on display to the public.

“We’re just really excited to share the changes and the eagles again with the public,” Ed Hahn, the marketing manager at the National Eagle Center, said. “We’ve done a lot of face-lifting, we’ve replaced or refurbished a lot of the existing exhibits so there’s a lot of new stuff for people to come and explore.”

Work started in November to renovate the facility, refresh exhibit spaces and expand the Riverfront Building. While outdoor work will continue through the summer next to the center, visitors can once again stop in for daily programming between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for those ages 4 to 17 and free for anyone 3 and under.
