Police: Vehicle carrying woman, children hit by gunfire; no injuries reported

Brooklyn Park police are investigating a shooting that damaged a vehicle while a woman and her children were inside.

According to police, officers were called to the area of Highway 610 and Noble Avenue North at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a shooting that involved two vehicles.

Responding officers found a vehicle that had two flat tires from gunshots.

Police say their initial investigation shows the woman and her children were being followed by a person known to them in another vehicle when the suspect began firing at their vehicle.

No one inside the victim’s vehicle was injured by gunfire.

Police add that this wasn’t a random incident.

Officials haven’t said if anyone has been arrested for the shooting as of this time.

No other details were immediately available.

The shooting remains under investigation.
