One block of Penn Ave. North in Minneapolis shut down for an hour Friday afternoon after vehicle crash
A vehicle crash in Minneapolis resulted in a block of Penn Ave. North shut down for about an hour Friday afternoon, police say.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident at the intersection of Penn Ave. North and 27th Ave North shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday.
A vehicle was heading on 27th Ave North and failed to stop at a stop sign, and a second vehicle then collided with it in the intersection, police say. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the accident, police shut down Penn Ave North in both directions, between 27th and 29th Avenues North, for about an hour.
The driver of the first vehicle was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and driving without a valid driver’s license, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
