Twins put Celestino on COVID list, reinstate Coulombe
The Minnesota Twins have activated a pitcher from the injured list but lost an outfielder.
Friday, the team announced outfielder Gilberto Celestino was put on the COVID-19 inured list.
Celestino has played in 31 games for the Twins this season, hitting .324 with 4 doubles, 4 RBI, 10 runs, 7 walks and a .398 on-base percentage.
To take his roster spot, Minnesota reinstated relief pitcher Danny Coulombe from the 15-day injured list.
Coulombe missed the last 15 games with a left hip impingement. He made two appearances for Triple-A St. Paul on a rehab assignment. For the Twins, he’s played in 9 games, throwing 12 innings with 1 earned run allowed, 7 walks and 9 strikeouts.
