USS Minneapolis Saint Paul now in Duluth, to be commissioned Saturday

The United States Navy’s newest combat ship – the USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul – will be commissioned Saturday in Duluth.
The ship sailed under the Aerial Lift Bridge Monday.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has followed the progression of the ship’s construction since 2017 – when it was still on dry land – to 2019, when it made the splash into the water in Marinette, Wisconsin.
The ship will then be delivered to the Navy, and it will be based at a port in Florida.
