Twins activate Garlick, option Contreras
The Minnesota Twins have reinstated one of its injured players.
Monday, Kyle Garlick was activated from the 10-day injured list. He’s missed the last 13 games with a right calf strain.
During his two-game rehab assignment in Triple-A St. Paul, Garlick went 3-for-9 with 1 home run and a double. In his 13 games played for the Twins this season, he’s hit 5-for-21 with 3 home runs, 6 RBI and 5 walks, tallying a .385 on-base percentage and a 1.051 OPS.
To make room on the roster for Garlick, the Twins optioned outfielder Mark Contreras back to St. Paul.
Contreras made his MLB debut and played in two games for the Twins, going 0-for-2 with 1 RBI.
