Twin Cities moms celebrated Mother’s Day through art and music Sunday at Minneapolis and St. Paul markets.

The Market at Malcolm Yards in Minneapolis held its first ever Mom-A-Rama, and the Saint Paul Farmers’ Market in the Lowertown neighborhood hosted Mother’s Day events alongside its regular weekend market.

Malcolm Yards collaborated with creative arts advocate Megan Leafblad Gottschalk to run workshops including pottery making and bouquet arranging. Leafblad also brought together 10 local artists for people to meet.

Visitors could shop from local craft vendors while enjoying food and “MOMOSAs.”

In downtown St. Paul, children could decorate flowerpots and choose a plant to bring home. Live music accompanied activities from 9 a.m. to noon.

On Saturday, the St. Paul Farmers’ Market worked with the nonprofit Open Your Heart to collect food for the hungry and homeless.

The St. Paul market starts at 8 a.m. each weekend in Lowertown, and the Malcolm Yards market opens every day at 11 a.m.
