Both scoring margins were a stark contrast from many of the nail biters and overtime matches between the teams in the past few years. The Central Division rivals have met in the first round of the Stanley Cup three times in the past seven years.
The Wild hope their momentum will be enough to overcome the Blues’ scoring domination over the Wild in the last three seasons, which has led the Blues to a 13-3 hold over the Wild since the Blues won it all in 2019.
Mackenzie MacEachern and Scott Perunovich are out for the Blues, while Nick Leddy is listed as day-to-day with an upper body injury. The Wild have no injuries.
