A Twin Cities veteran is honoring all those who serve our nation.
On Saturday, Toufong Lor of White Bear Lake will break ground on the American Veterans Memorial Park near Cannon Falls.
Lor is a retired U.S. Navy Lieutenant and veteran of the Gulf War.
Lor started a non-profit to build the project that will feature 11 war memorials, including a first-of-its-kind Hmong Soldier War Memorial.
“The Hmong sacrificed tremendously for freedom, and I also want to have a monument that remembers what the Hmong has done for America,” Lor said. “Wearing the uniform, it means a lot, and it’s about time we have something that we remember what freedom and sacrifice is about.”
The park will be located just south of Cannon Falls off Highway 52 near County Road 14.
