Construction crews are now scheduled to begin work on an area road this weekend after weather conditions have prompted the project to be delayed.
According to Washington County officials, a closure of Highway 36 at Manning Avenue in Stillwater, Stillwater Township, Lake Elmo and Grant will begin Friday.
Officials say eastbound Highway 36 will now be closed from 7 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
Meanwhile, westbound Highway 36 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 12 p.m. Saturday.
If weather conditions cause more delays this weekend, county officials say work will be moved to Monday night.
This weekend, concrete will be poured for the bridge deck, and the southern half of a storm sewer pipe will also be installed, according to the county.
Officials say the northern half of the storm sewer will be installed the following weekend, and will cause westbound Highway 36 to be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 13 to 5 a.m. on Monday, May 16.
The concrete pour was originally scheduled to be done April 22 and 23, and additional closures were expected April 29 to May 2. However, work was delayed due to weather conditions to Friday April 29 to May 2, and the second half was delayed to this Friday through Monday.
