Bloomington bank robbery suspect arrested
Police say one person is in custody after a robbery last week in the City of Bloomington.
According to police, the robbery happened around 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Top Line Federal Credit Union on the 5200 block of Viking Drive.
That’s where police say the 40-year-old man said he had a bomb, and demanded money. He then left the scene on foot, but potentially went to a vehicle.
The suspect was described as wearing a blue jacket, a hat, sunglasses, a medical mask and a backpack.
Friday, police say detectives stopped a vehicle near 106th Street and Vessey Road in Bloomington, and found the driver – identified as a man – had outstanding warrants. While searching a home on the 10600 block of Vessey Road, officials say they found evidence supporting an arrest of the robbery suspect.
Formal charges are pending. He is being held on first degree robbery at the Hennepin County Jail.
