Minnesota United defender Chase Gasper is back with the team after spending nearly a month in a rehab program. After voluntarily entering the MLS Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health (“SABH”) Program, Gasper spent time at in-patient facility in Southern California.
Gasper entered the program March 16th for unspecified reasons. He rejoined Minnesota United late last week and is now preparing for game action whenever called upon.

Gasper didn’t specify why he made the decision to enter the SABH program or offer many details about his rehab – other than the location, saying he got some much-needed help and was able to use a gym and train while he was there.
He says he’s realized true strength wasn’t playing through his issues – as he’d convinced himself to do for years – but rather in asking for help.
He cited a negative stigma associated with issues relating to anxiety, depression and addiction that caused him to carry his personal problems for nearly a decade saying he now feels better than he has in years.
Prior to entering the SABH Program, Gasper missed time with what the team said were concussion-related issues.
United plays at Madison in the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday. Manager Adrian Heath expects to give Gasper his season debut in that game.
