Gophers cancel Brave Like Gabe Invite

The University of Minnesota Track and Field program has announced Wednesday’s Brave Like Gabe Invite has been canceled.

According to the school, the event was canceled due to the forecast, which is calling for rain and thunderstorms.

In addition, the school says the meet won’t be rescheduled.

Due to the change, senior class honors will now be held at the upcoming team banquet.

However, this week’s Alumni Gold meet in Louisiana, as well as the Holst Invitational, are still happening as planned.

The latest forecast says clouds will build Tuesday afternoon, with rain and thunderstorms moving into the area Wednesday, and will last from sunrise to sunset. About 0.5 to 1.0 inch of rain is expected to fall across the area.
