When Kirk Cousins takes the field in 2022, he’ll have the confidence of his new head coach Kevin O’Connell. While Vikings former head coach Mike Zimmer was defensive-minded, O’Connell is a former quarterback who can identify with what Cousins will be experiencing on a weekly basis, something that Cousins is excited about.

“In the short time I’ve spent with Kevin (O’Connell), he wants to do things that a quarterback is comfortable in doing. I think that’ll help us as we develop our relationship moving forward,” said Cousins.
Change is something Cousins has seen over his career, and having a new coaching staff from top to bottom will take a little time to learn and adapt to.
“You want to be around great coaches. Even though it’ll take a little time to learn the new coaching staff and for them to get to know you, I look forward to sharing ideas to get this team in a positive direction,” Cousins adds.
On a side note, the NFL Draft will take place April 28th-30th. The Vikings’ first pick is No. 12 overall.
