St. Paul Public Schools adopts relaxed mask mandate
Masks will no longer be required at St. Paul Public Schools facilities starting Monday. The Board of Education voted to revise the district’s policy during a meeting Tuesday.
The resolution passed Tuesday updates the district’s policy to only require masks when the COVID-19 transmission level in Ramsey County is “high” according to criteria from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Right now Ramsey County is considered to have low community transmission.
The board voted 3-2 last month to keep the district’s mask mandate in place, despite Superintendent Joe Gothard’s recommendation to rescind the policy.
