Police say a man is dead and a woman is seriously injured following a shooting Wednesday night in the Phillips area of Minneapolis.
Minneapolis police spokesman Officer Garrett Parten said officers responded to a report of gunfire just after 8:30 p.m. near East 24th Street and 17th Avenue South.
Officers found two shooting victims — a man and a woman — inside an apartment. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman, identified as being in her early 20’s, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Parten said.
Police say no arrests have been made and they are investigating how the man and woman knew each other.
This marks the city’s 19th homicide of 2022.
