Target announces new safety measures to prevent spread of coronavirus

Target announced on Wednesday it would be ramping up safety measures at stores to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
According to a news release, Target will have workers dedicated to cleaning off carts at store entrances, and checkout lanes will be cleaned off after every transaction.
To ensure customers maintain safe distances from each other, Target will install signs and decals to remind customers to practice social distancing.
For the next three weeks, stores will stop accepting all in-store product returns and exchanges. However, any returns that expire during that time will be extended for three weeks past the hold period.
Target also said it would pause sales of reusable bags. Any customers who bring their own bags will be asked to bag their own items.
The company also said on Wednesday that all new store remodels would be pushed back to 2021. Any remodels that are currently underway will be completed.
Target announced last week it would give a $2 per hour raise for all hourly employees at stores and distribution centers until May 2.
