St. Paul mayor to present proposal for family, small business aid in midst of COVID-19

St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter said he is presenting a proposal for aid to families and small businesses during Wednesday’s city council meeting.

The small business and family relief fund proposal is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and was created in an effort to provide emergency relief.

"Like communities across our nation, the city of St. Paul is responding to the coronavirus in close partnership with our public health officials," Carter said in a social media post. "While all of us adapt to this rapidly changing situation, we have a responsibility to address the economic impact of this pandemic."
