There are now 287 Minnesotans who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, as of Wednesday.

One Minneapolis woman hasn’t tested positive but doctors told her to self-quarantine for 14 days after showing symptoms of the virus.

A few weeks after returning on a trip from Paris with her boyfriend, Denielle Mehr started getting sick.

"I woke up, I had this foggy-headed [feeling], just not feeling right," Mehr said.

Mehr had a headache, sore throat, cough and trouble breathing.

"I started to get the heavy breathing, I mean your heart races just walking up and downstairs," Mehr said.

Mehr went to the emergency room and was told she had an upper respiratory virus and was released.

Since she was not admitted, Mehr said the hospital would not give her a COVID-19 test.

"Most people can be treated at home, but this is a time for alarm for people that are older are immunocompromised," she said.

Mehr is now feeling better and her boyfriend, who is also under self-quarantine, has not shown any symptoms of COVID-19.
