Vikings re-sign Mannion as backup QB
The Minnesota Vikings have brought back veteran quarterback Sean Mannion as the backup to Kirk Cousins.
KSTP Sports confirmed the one-year agreement Tuesday, which will be for the veteran minimum of $1.12 million.
Mannion has spent the past three seasons with Minnesota after spending his first four seasons with the Rams.
He’s only played in 14 career NFL games, completing 60.9% of his 110 passes for 573 yards, with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions.
Mannion was started one game last year — Week 17 against Green Bay — where he completed 22 of 36 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown in a 37-10 Green Bay win that eliminated the Vikings from playoff contention.
