Boys Basketball: Eden Prairie upsets Shakopee 75-60 to get to state

Eden Prairie’s forward Chiddi Obiazor was the star for the Eagles on Friday night as he poured in 29 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and had six blocks in the team’s upset victory 75-60 over Shakopee in the Section 2AAAA finals.

The Eagles lost 83-64 to Shakopee back on Jan. 8, but they knew they were a better team than that. They then proved it when it mattered the most.
“This was a great game. We knew we could do it. We just needed to get off to a good start and from there things fell into place,” says Eden Prairie junior Chiddi Obiazor.
Guard Yonis Mohamud led the Sabers with 16 points, followed by guard Cade McGraw and forward Nick Katona with 15 points each.
With the win, the Eagles move on to the state tournament next week.
