The Minnesota Vikings formally introduced defensive tackle Harrison Phillips and linebacker Jordan Hicks to the media Thursday in Eagan.
Phillips comes over from the Buffalo Bills and should be a perfect fit at nose tackle in Minnesota’s 3-4 defense.
“Not a lot of nose guards get a lot of pub out there,” Phillips said. “I like to call my position the fire hydrant at the dog show. You’ve got a role. You’re the guy who’s going to get pissed on, but hey, you’ve got a role.”
Hicks has been a playmaking linebacker in Philadelphia and Arizona and is looking forward to playing next to Eric Kendricks.
“It was a big part of my decision.” Hicks said. “I’ve looked up to his game since we both came in the league. When the opportunity presented itself to be able to come in and play alongside on a defense with a great leadership, with great talent, it was really a no-brainer.”
