With 17 regular season games to go, the Timberwolves occupy the 7th spot in the Western Conference. The top-6 teams in the conference will make the playoffs, with seeds 7-10 competing in the play-in tournament for the final two spots.
Wolves coach Chris Finch spoke ahead of Monday’s game vs. Portland and said that making the playoffs is the goal, not the play-in tourney. The Wolves are 2.5 games back of 6-seed Denver, but do have an easier remaining schedule.

News from Monday: Malik Beasley has been fined $35,000 for making unnecessary and inappropriate contact with Portland Trail Blazers center Drew Eubanks in Saturday’s game.
Finch did not have an update on injured players Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell, Taurean Prince, Naz Reid, and Patrick Beverley. All are questionable for Monday’s game, except for Edwards. His knee injury has him doubtful. However, he played in a scrimmage after shoot-around, showing he’s not far away.
