Bump, a Vermont commit, didn’t waste any time getting his first goal just nine seconds into the first period.
Chaska responded thanks to Tanner Bruender who put a back-hander in the top shelf beating Trevor Boschee to tie the game at one. Prior Lake continued to pressure the Hawks’ defense; Will Schumacher scored to take back the lead for the Lakers 2-1 in the first period. Chaska’s Sam Scheetz tied the game at 2-2.
Prior Lake got ahead and stayed there for good. Bump scored his second goal of the game in the second period. From there the Lakers gained more momentum and pulled even further ahead. Bump scored his third goal by beating Chaska’s goalie Carter Wishart 5-hole for the hat trick. Bump scored an empty netter to ice the win, 7-4.
Prior Lake’s Trevor Boschee had 33 saves in net for the Lakers.
