MDH announces digital tool to find sites offering Narcan
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) says it now has a digital map that shows people where they can find naloxone, also known by the brand name Narcan.
State health officials say the map shows where you can find pharmacies or Syringe Service Programs – also known as SSPs – that offer naloxone, which can be used to reverse an accidental opioid overdose.
The site also lists resources to help identify signs of misuse of opioids, and learn about treatment.
In addition, it shows how to administer the drug by injection or a nasal plunger.
When using the map, customers are asked to contact the site listed to make sure naloxone is available.
