Tuesday night shooting death in south Minneapolis under investigation
Minneapolis police announced that a shooting resulted in the death of a man Tuesday night.
Police said they received reports of shots fired in the 3300 block of 25th Avenue South just before 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
Officers found a man with gunshot wounds lying face down in a yard when they arrived. They then provided life-saving efforts until paramedics arrived, but the man later died at the hospital.
Investigators interviewed two residents at the home after the shooting. A news release from the Minneapolis Police Department said “Investigators are working to determine who was involved in the incident and the role each played.”
Minneapolis Public Information Officer Parten said the man who was shot did not live at the home.
This is the ninth death investigated as a homicide in Minneapolis for the year 2022.
