Food service workers for Minneapolis schools to hold strike authorization vote
Minneapolis Public Schools could face another potential strike.
About 200 food service workers for the district – each members of the Service Employees International Union – have announced a date for a strike authorization vote.
The union says those workers have been on the job with a contract that expired nearly two years ago.
Workers are asking for higher pay, as well as other demands.
Monday’s announcement comes after the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers and St. Paul Federation of Educators both voted in favor of their own strikes. Those results were announced last week.
