St. Cloud Area Schools rescinds universal mask mandate
St. Cloud Area School District announced Wednesday that beginning Thursday its universal masking mandate will end.
Due to the federal transportation mandate, masks are still required on district transportation and school busses.
Staff and students returning to school after a five-day quarantine are required to wear masks on days six through 10, according to a press release. Those who do not want to mask must quarantine for 10 days.
Superintendent Willie Jett revoked the mandate in consultation with state and local health officials, as district COVID-19 cases rates have “dropped significantly,” in the past month, the release states.
