MN House changes COVID-19 policies

The Minnesota House of Representatives announced changes to its masking and work-from-home policies on Tuesday.

According to Speaker Melissa Hortman, masks will no longer be required in the House Chamber and House Galleries starting February 17.

Representatives, staffers, media members, and the public are ‘encouraged but not required’ to wear masks.

Hortman says all other areas controlled by the House of Representatives including offices and committee rooms will still require adequate face coverings.

The House will also begin to transition to in-person work again.

Beginning on March 21 remote employees will go back to their onsite locations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The State Office Building will also be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on those days.
