Mike Dreier’s 44 years coaching at New London-Spicer High School has delivered him to a milestone no girls basketball coach in Minnesota has ever reached. But his value to the community and players he’s coached is worth far more than a record-setting number of victories.

Midway through Dreier’s 44th season as their head coach, his Wildcats beat Watertown-Mayer in front of a packed gym in New London for his 1,000th career win.
He’s the first girls basketball coach in state history to reach the milestone and trails only legendary boys coach Bob McDonald’s 1,012 wins for the all-time lead by a boys or girls basketball coach.
