Woman struck, killed in Maplewood hit-and-run

Authorities say a 65-year-old Oakdale woman is dead after she was hit in Maplewood Sunday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, troopers were called to Highway 120 south of Fifth Street at 7:43 p.m. on a report of a woman hit by a SUV on the shoulder.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the SUV left the scene.

The woman later died from her injuries at Regions Hospital.

Monday morning, the State Patrol identified the silver SUV as a 2015-2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, adding it has front-end and driver’s side damage.

Authorities say they were able to track the vehicle that left the scene, saying it traveled north on Century, went west on I-94, and then exited at Highway 61.

A license plate number has not been provided.

Authorities say they expect to release the woman’s name later on Monday.

The suspect vehicle is a 2015-2020 silver Mitsubishi Outlander, similar to the one pictured, with front-end and driver’s side damage.

State Patrol dispatchers were able to track the vehicle leave the scene. It made its way North on Century, went westbound on I-94 then exited at Highway 61. Anyone with information is asked to call State Patrol investigators at 651-539-1151.
