Victim identified in fatal St. Cloud house fire

The name of the person who died from injuries in a St. Cloud house fire last month has been released.

According to St. Cloud police, 34-year-old Kaitlyn Hitchcock was found dead when firefighters searched a home on the 100 block of 17th Avenue South on Jan. 31.

As previously reported, crews were called to the home shortly before 4:30 a.m.

Officers who responded were able to carry out one person who was in a wheelchair, and another resident was able to leave the home.

No one else was injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire has not been provided as of this time, however, police say the fire isn’t considered suspicious and is believed to be accidental.
