SOURCE: Jim Harbaugh to stay with Michigan, Kevin O’Connell frontrunner for Vikings coach search

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Jim Harbaugh has told Michigan that he will return, and he won’t take the job with the Vikings.

Harbaugh was interviewing with the Vikings Wednesday to fill the head-coach vacancy left by Mike Zimmer.

Multiple sources confirmed to KSTP that Kevin O’Connell, offensive coordinator for the Rams, is the frontrunner for the job.

O’Connell had a second interview with the Vikings on Monday in Los Angeles. He cannot officially start in the position until after the Super Bowl.
