Brooklyn Park PD: Carjacking at COVID testing site Saturday

Two people were pushed out of a vehicle and carjacked while waiting for a relative to exit a COVID-19 testing site in Brooklyn Park Saturday, police said.

At 2:50 p.m., police responded to the carjacking report at the COVID-19 testing site in the 8000 block of Brooklyn Boulevard and learned that two people were waiting in a car while their family member was getting tested when a man entered the car and shoved the back seat passenger out. Police said that a struggle began between the suspect and the front seat passenger. Ultimately, the passenger was pushed out of the vehicle and the suspect took over the car and sped off.

Both passengers were adults, police said, no one was injured and no weapons were seen.

The incident is under investigation.
