UPDATE: Hwy 41 in Chaska reopens after fatal crash

A fatal crash on Highway 41 in Chaska temporarily closed a portion of the roadway, Tuesday morning.
The crash happened on Highway 41 near Engler Boulevard at about 9:36 a.m.
According to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report, a 2018 Nissan Sentra was headed north on Highway 41 when it crossed over the median and collided head-on with a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing the Jeep to spin. A Chevrolet Suburban then hit the side of the Jeep.
Nobody in the Suburban was injured and the driver of the Jeep suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the crash report.
The driver of the Nissan — a 33-year-old Chanhassen man — was pronounced dead at a hospital. The report states he wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time.

Southbound Highway 41 between Engler Boulevard and Crosstown Boulevard was closed for about three hours but has since reopened.
The State Patrol is investigating the crash.
