Robotics students teaming up to make face shields for health care workers

Many students had their robotics season cut short because of the coronavirus pandemic, but now they're using their skills to help health care workers.

Using 3D printing technology, students on robotics teams around the state are teaming up with Stratasys and Dunwoody College to make face shields.

Missy Schwarz, who mentors the Eagan-based CrushBots, sent out a plea to members on other teams, and they rallied to start 3D printing face shields from home.

Stratasys says it's producing about 2,500 each day but the company has requests for 30,000 each week.
