T-bone crash in Itasca County leaves 1 dead, 4 injured

On Friday at 7:43 a.m., the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal crash on Highway 46 near County Road 140 in Bowstring Lake.

A Toyota Tundra was traveling north on Highway 46 when a Saturn driving south lost control and entered the northbound lane, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The vehicles T-boned.

All four of the occupants in the Tundra were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The single occupant in the Saturn, 25-year-old Jacob Starck — who was not wearing a seatbelt — was pronounced dead, the State Patrol said.
