The Minnesota Hindu faith community has joined the many others online to give its worshippers an outlet to connect.
It’s become so popular, the Hindu Society of Minnesota (HSMN) created a new webstream to make it easy for people to be part of its live services.
“I think in a time like this, people do turn to their faith,” said Pooja Bastodkar, president of HSMN. “If they’re not able to come to the temple, this is sort of the next best way to watch a live worship.”
Bastodkar said at times its temple in Maple Grove has 1,000 people show up. Now in these uneasy times, those people can still connect.
“The connection that one would have to their religious faith, their temple, their church, I think really, really becomes important.”
