Gophers leading rusher Ky Thomas enters transfer portal

After leading the Gophers with 824 rushing yards and six scores, Ky Thomas is entering the transfer portal. He tweeted the news Monday morning:

Thomas was named the Guaranteed Rate Bowl MVP after rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown in Minnesota’s win last week over West Virginia.
The Gophers still have Mohamed Ibrahim, Bucky Irving, Trey Potts, and Bryce Williams at running back for 2022. All but Irving are rehabbing after sustaining a serious injury during the season.
