After 34 years, MSHSL associate director to retire

Lisa Lissimore, the associate director of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) will be retiring at the end of April after 34 years of service, according to league officials.

Lissimore’s retirement was announced Monday morning, and the league says it is currently in the process to fill Lissimore’s position.

Before working in the MSHSL in 1988, Lissimore, a St. Paul native, belonged to the league’s board of directors as a delegate of the Minnesota State Board of Education.

Lissimore was also inducted into the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2009, was selected to receive the NFHS Section 5 Citation Award for distinguished service to schools in 2019, and is also responsible for corporate sponsorships and recognition programs such as the league’s Hall of Fame, the Triple "A", ExCEL and Spotlight on Scholarship awards.

According to a release issued by the league Monday morning, Lissimore stated she plans to spend more time with her husband and son.

The MSHSL is made of 500 member schools.
