1 teen dead, 1 hurt after shooting in Minneapolis Friday afternoon

One teenager is dead and a second is in the hospital after a shooting Friday afternoon, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
At 4:30 p.m., officers responded to North 24th Street and Dupont Avenue North on a report of one down and another person wounded leaving the area by vehicle. Police found a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
A second 16-year-old boy arrived at North Memorial Health Hospital privately with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Early investigation indicates that the two teenagers were walking when shots were fired from a vehicle, according to police. No suspects were nearby when officers responded to the scene.
This is the 95th homicide in Minneapolis in 2021, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
