Two people were injured after a driver under the influence crashed into an Oak Park Heights squad car on Christmas Eve, according to the Oak Park Heights Police Department.
Early Friday morning, an Oak Park Heights police officer was responding to a pedestrian in the median of Highway 36 at Stillwater Boulevard when his squad was rear-ended by another car.
Police believe the civilian driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The police officer and driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
"This is a sobering reminder to drive sober or get pulled over!" the department shared on Facebook. "We want all who are traveling over the holidays to have a safe and happy journey."
