Officers, suspect identified in Willmar police shooting that injured man
Authorities have identified the people involved in a police shooting that left a man injured in Willmar last week.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension on Monday identified the involved officers as:
- Sgt. Ross Livingood, a 15-year law enforcement veteran. Livingood discharged his firearm in the incident and is on standard administrative leave.
- Officer Joseph Schaefbauer, a three-year law enforcement veteran. Schaefbauer deployed his Taser in the incident.
Additionally, the suspect who was injured in the incident was identified as 56-year-old August LaFeen. He has been charged with six felony counts of terroristic threats.
The BCA continues to investigate the shooting and will provide its findings to the Kandiyohi County Attorney’s Office for review.
