Bridge beam placement to cause temporary closure of Highway 36
A temporary closure for a portion of Highway 36 is underway as a bridge beam is put in place this week in Washington County.
According to Washington County officials, Highway 36 will be closed from Manning Avenue to Lake Elmo Avenue on the nights of Monday, Dec. 20 through Dec. 23.
The closures will be in effect between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for the bridge beam placement.
Officials say eastbound lanes will be closed the nights of Dec. 20 and 21, while westbound lanes will be closed the nights of Dec. 22 and 23.
Single lane closures will also begin at 9 p.m. on those dates.
Traffic will be detoured while the roadway is closed — westbound traffic will go north on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 15 and then head west on CSAH 12 before heading south on CSAH 17 back to Highway 36.
Meanwhile, eastbound traffic will travel south on CSAH 17, go east on CSAH 14 and then head north on CSAH 15.
