Woman injured in overnight Minneapolis shooting

Police say one person is recovering from injuries following an overnight shooting in Minneapolis.

According to Minneapolis Police, officers were called to the 40 block of Eighth Street South just after 12:35 a.m. Friday on a report of shots fired in the area.

When officers arrived, they say they found a woman with a gunshot wound not considered to be life-threatening. Her name and age were not immediately provided.

They say the woman was hospitalized.

In addition, police say a business was also damaged by gunfire, however, the incident didn’t happen inside the business. The name of the business wasn’t immediately released.

Police say limited initial information was provided regarding suspects.

The incident is still being investigated.
