KSTP Sports was at Eden Prairie high school this morning to watch Trey Bixby sign his letter of intent to play football for the Gophers.
It was a simple matter of putting pen to paper for the defensive lineman to sign with Minnesota since he already verbally committed many, many months prior. But that didn’t take away from the excitement of him joining his dream program.
"I’ve wanted to play for the Gophers since I can remember. This is such a great day I can’t really describe it," said Bixby.

Bixby stands 6-feet-5 and weighs 255 pounds. He’s a defensive end with agility, who also has a great knowledge of the game. He will be able to check many boxes for coach P.J. Fleck.
"P.J. Fleck Facetimed me this morning to let me know how happy he was that I was signing with the Gophers. I know how much of a family atmosphere it is over there and I can’t wait to be a part of it," Bixby added.
Bixby also had offers from Arkansas, Michigan State and Penn State.
